"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams... live the life you've imagined". Thoreau
Catherine Marie Mamola b. 1968, Bronx, New York Catherine Mamola was born in the Bronx, New York and grew up about an hour north of the city. Majoring in Early Childhood Education, Catherine graduated from Cortland University. After graduating, she entered the business scene in Manhattan where she held senior level positions such as Director of Marketing and Partner. Growing tired of that lifestyle and having had her first son, Catherine put a studio in her home and began to pursue her life-long dream of becoming an artist. Catherine continually takes classes and workshops to hone her skills. She studied fine art at Fairleigh Dickinson University, the Art Students League of New York, The Scottsdale Artist’s School, The Fredericksburg Artist’s School and The Grand Central Academy of Art in New York.
During her studies at Fairleigh Dickinson, Catherine was selected to create a sculpture commemorating the 90th anniversary of the Morris Museum in Morristown, New Jersey. When the museum saw her completed work, they asked her to display the sculpture at the museum indefinitely. Catherine lives in New Jersey with her husband, Ben, and their three young children. Catherine's family owns a quaint waterfront cottage on an island in New England. The beauty and simplicity of this remote destination has inspired her to capture life on her canvas. The picturesque landscape is the subject of many of her compositions.
